Who We Are

The J-School at MSU has a nationally and internationally known faculty both full and part time. Among them are a Pulitzer Prize winner, a former globe-trotting Time magazine reporter and editor, the former Graphics Editor of Newsweek, world class researchers and specialist faculty with extensive experience in newspapers, magazines, radio, television, web, news graphics, design and media law.

Our priority is our students and helping them succeed in the competitive media market. Our pledge is to teach them what they need to know to launch successful careers across a broad spectrum of media and other areas, as well.

Supporting this effort is a terrific staff who help keep the day to day operations of the J-School running smoothly.

Another key component for student success is academic advising. At the J-School our students are more than just a number. We know them, and our professional advisers know them and work with them to make sure they take the courses they need to graduate on time.
